So often in this world, we feel invisible. We may be screaming our heads off, dying in silence, or just keeping our heads down and getting through the day… but no one sees us.
No one sees our struggles, our little successes, or our fears. It feels like no one cares. In a world in which we can be more interconnected than ever, increasingly we feel alone.
What I want to say, is that I see you. I may not understand what you’re going through, but I see that you are going through something. And if I don’t understand, please help me. I want to see you. I want to know how I can help – that’s what you’re electing me for. For too long, the people of my district have been invisible. Your concerns, wishes, and voices have been ignored.
I pledge not to ignore you. Tell me, what can I do to help you? How can I see you?
